I never leave him in the pen now. When I worked, I left the dogs out there during the day so they wouldn't have to cross their legs if the need arose. They actually liked the pen and in the mornings looked forward to going out. They all got a 'leaving treat' and that might have been the motivation. No matter, they seemed to enjoy it.

The pen itself has several structures, alas, these days they are thoroughly degraded, as I haven't kept it up since I haven't been working at an 'office job' for 10 years now. It also has a (still working) misting cooler, with an industrial sized fan to keep any annoying bugs away. I'll put up a page that shows the pen...

In any case, when I put the aquaponics system in next Spring, it will be nice to have a ready made 'safe pen'. I'll still have to keep the raccoons out with reinforcement mesh, but that shouldn't be too onerous.
